Your Unit Two Block D English Literature Student Representative
|
This page has been compiled to keep Unit Two English Literature students at Nene, University College Northampton up to date with any news relevant to their course. I am your Student Representative should you be a Block D Unit 2 student, i.e. you have classes on a Tuesday afternoon and Friday morning. As your rep, I am a neutral point of contact for students within the College. It is my responsibility to liaise with academic staff on your behalf. I am here so that, as a student body, we are heard and able to influence decisions that ultimately affect our lives as students. Should you encounter any problems with the course, be it with teaching style, interaction with tutors, course content, whatever, then please feel free to contact me. In order to represent you as effectively as possible, the more input I get from fellow students, the better. I am now a Student Representative on the Board of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, which as a body deals with issues relating to the Combined Honours program for all courses within the faculty. Therefore, should you wish to raise issues relating to the Combined Honours system as a whole, whatever it might be, I can now represent your views regardless of their relevance to the English course.

As I write, we are mid exams. I wish you all well. As we come to the end of another academic year, there will again be a meeting of the Board of Study, so please contact me with any feedback about the course at Unit 2. | The last Board of Study can be best described as 'unusual and interesting' with some alternative contributions being made to the general mode of thinking. All feedback is welcome, but a democracy seeks to ensure that the majority voice is responded to without obliterating the minority voice, something I believe firmly that this English department successfully accomplishes. Anyone with any valid, constructive and supported arguments to suggest otherwise are welcome to voice their opinions through the appropriate channels. I would like to assert at this point that I write as a student and an individual and am representing my own opinions and not those of anyone else associated with the college (any similarity to real life persons or events being entirely coincidental!) In summary, please contact me with any comments, criticisms and suggestions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you. Good luck in the exams and in Unit 3, whether or not your English studies continue.
